WILLIAM, b. say 1651; m. (1) Bradford 3 May 1678 Ruth Tenny; m. (2) by1690 Sarah _____ (eldest child b. Bradford 1 June 1690). (She is said tobe Sarah Savory, daughter of Robert and Mary (Mitchell) Savory, evidencenot stated; but given the associations between the Hardy and Savoryfamilies this is a likely identification [Ordway Anc 282, 287-88]. [TheGreat Migration Begins]
Note: TGMB gives William a much later birth date than I have foundelsewhere, and makes him a child of Anne (who is the only wife that TGMBfinds documentation on, although they admit to rumors of Lydia). I don'tknow how they judged his birth (maybe by marriage). The other childrenwere judged by their ages given at death (but TGMB has no death forWilliam).

William Hardy, born probably at Ipswich about 1644. He married, first, atBradford, Mass., 3 May 1678, Ruth Tenney. She was a daughter of DeaconWilliam Tenny and was born at Rowley, Mass., 16 Mar. 1653-4. She died atBradford 27 Apr. 1689. He married again, probably about 1689. His secondwife was Sarah, Presumably Sarah Savory, daughter of Robert Savory.
William Hardy was one of the 101 first members of the new CongregationalChurch, organized at Groveland 7 Jun 1727, and served as Deacon. After1690 he was known as William, Sr. He died about 1722 without making awill. His son William, at the request of his mother, Sarah Hardy, supported by Richard Kimball and Samuel Hardy, was appointedadministrator of the estate 30 Jan. 1722-3. The estate was divided 3 Nov.1725 by agreement between the widow and children.
A widow, Sarah Hardy, was living in 1729, according to David W. Hoyt, noted historian and genealogist, and probably in 1743. She died atBradford, he states, April or May 1752, in her 96th year.
