Notes par Laura Jane BURT

Laura was living with her mother and stepfather, James Charlton, in 1860. She is also listed in the household of Dr. James CHARLTON in 1870, with his 3rd wife, Caroline.

The Laura mentioned above may be a different Laura, but probably it's just a census error. She is noted as being 3 in the 1850 census, 13 in the 1860 census, my guess is she was 23 in the 1870 census. (note by: D.warner 18 May 2001)

I, William H. BURT make this as an appendix to my last will and testament. It is my will and desire that F.A. LOUGHMILLER be appointed to settle up my Executorship, in my father's Estate. There are several claims, one on Thomas S. BURT for about $60, some on Wm. E. VENABLE, one on Hugh FRANCIS. They all belong to me individually, as I have settled with the Clerk for them, as a reference to his books will show. I have never been allowed anything for selling the land. I want that allowed.
