The oral history of the Family is that William T Ward was widowed in 1869, Cynthia was to have fallen down stairs and died from her injuries.There are rumors that he married again around 1870 and started a new family, in the Indian Nations There are, so far, no records to prove these statements, however, a copy of Francis T Ward's marriage filling in Jersey Co.ILL. states that Cynthia died from fall down stairs and that she was his mother.William T. Ward was a wittness to the ceremony of marriage Rights to Francis Ward and Julia A. Steed.
