Initially, Mr. and Mrs. Mok and their two-year-old son, Martin Jacob, were hidden in the Pius Catholic Hospital in Harderwijk, Gelderland. However, when it was no longer possible for them to stay there, the mother superior found shelter for the Jewish family with Bheene and Dreesje Kevelam and their two children on a farm in Harderwijk. The Kevelams were devout Christians and were willing to help for religious and humanitarian reasons. The Moks stayed with the Kevelams from April 1943 until April or May 1944, when they were forced to leave after Bheene learned that they had been betrayed. Soon after they left, the Germans arrived at the Kevelams' home and even held a gun to the head of their nine-year-old son, Willem, but no one disclosed any information about Jewish refugees.
On July 25, 1993, Yad Vashem recognized Bheene Kevelam and his wife, Dreesje Kevelam-Timmer,as Righteous Among the Nations.
