Obituary April 9, 1897 Moline Daily Dispatch Colona
The Obituary Record-
"James Peacock, whose death last Saturday was noted in the Dispatch, was born March 18, 1867, hence was 30 years and 15 days old. He was a native of this county. He leaves behind a widow and two small sons, besides a mother, brothers and sisters and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
About a year ago he bought a farm, on which he erected buildings and where the family were planning a happy home. Alas! How soon our prospects may be blighted.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Ward, assisted by the Rev. S.H. Weed, in the M.E. church Monday. His mother, Mrs. Peacock, and his sisters, Mrs. George Wood with her husband, Misses Daisy and Jessie Peacock of Moline were present. The church was crowded beyond its seating capacity. His body rests beside that of his father in the Dayton Cemetery."
Special Thanks to Lynne Peacock Bell for sharing her Peacock Family Line.
