Dec. 19, 1829, at Union, Conn.; m. Edwin Windsor Upham of Union, Nov. 12, 1848. He was the son of Ichabod Town and Abigail (Copeland) Upham and was. b. May 3, 1823. He enlisted in Co. G, 22nd Regt. Conn. Vols., and served as corporal during the nine months from Sept. 1862, to July 7, 1863. They lived for many years in the western part of Union, but moved in 1881 to Union Center, where he built a fine, large house. There they have kept the post-office for many years and also the town library since its origin 1895, and their hospitable home also serves as hotel for those who need such an accommodation at Union. Mr. Upham has held many town offices, and was in the state legislature of 1889. He belongs to and is Chaplain of the local G.A.R. post, and both he and his family have been earnest workers for the good of the town, in church, grange, agricultural society, and in other ways.
