Notes par Claire Lorraine McKenna

1927 Mother "Aurella" left Husband & Children. Father & Children moved to Grandmother's House. 205 Nashua St. Leominster, MA. This was a very bad time for Father and Children, father at one time tried to hang himself. Another time he put the children in chairs in the middle of the floor, tied them up and almost killed him and the children by burning...luckily he didn't go through with it.

1928 Father & Children moved to Monroe Bridge, Ma., over the General Store, on Main St., first building on left heading from Readsboro. Now the Post Office. Mr. & Mrs. Danny Gillis took care of children while Father worked.

Abt 1929 Father & Children moved to North Hill, Readsboro, Vt. into the Bosley's home. Mrs. Florence Bosley and son took a care of Children. Sally remembers going to 1st Grade in the Readsboro School??? This was a very bad time, the Bosley's treated the children very badly when Father was away. They beat them, did not feed them and made them work very hard.

Abt 1930 Father & Children moved to South Readsboro, Vt., Bosley Hill. Mrs. Clara Needham and her three children took care of McKenna Children. Sally (Claire) remembers going to 1st Grade at the South Readsboro School???

1933 Father & Children moved to School Rd. in Readsboro, the first house on the left on the hill, past the school. Ida Cassidy moved in and took very good care of the children until they were grown and married. Sally calls her "Mother" for she was the only decent person she knew as a mother figure. (John "Jack" Franzinelli died that year, being 6 years old)

1934 Father & Children moved to Main St/East Main St. into an apartment of the Bissaillions. Ida Cassidy also moved there to take care of the children.

1935 Father & Children moved to the "John Carpenters" house on Main St., Readsboro. It is now Mario Bolognani's house. Again Ida Cassidy moved with the family.

1944 Sally (Claire) married Genaro Franzinelli and moved to 69 Tunnel St. where she still lives.

1944 Father and Ida Cassidy moved next door to Sally, Gene and his family to 67 Tunnel St. Father was quite sick then, Ida took very good care of him until his death November 11, 1959. [Shimkus Franzinelli Family Tree.GED]
