I use Genealogie Online to share my family tree with others who may have the same people - so that we can share, compare, correct and add information about our family members. Sometimes this gains friends, more family members, photos and more importantly, stories about my ancestors. Plus I get the facility of searching for bidprentjes, archive files that allows me to make my data official with a source. My experience is great - some things I don't know enough about but I learn as I go along. The result of publishing online also gives me the ability to see matches from other trees - get more information from that, plus others can also see my data and utilise it if they wish - my sources show so they can make up their mind as to just copy it, or check where I got my data from. I don't get any responses about my publication on Genealogie Online. There are minor improvements I would like to see on the Matches page so I live in hope for that in the future. All in all, a great genealogy website that is user-friendly. Hopefully it stays away from being bought out by the bigger companies who like to purchase every genealogy website (MyHeritage).
