James Welborn (1736) migrated into North Carolina, Rowan Co., circa 1755 (one of the early settlers there) around a place called Abbots Creek. There's a graveyard there w/many Welborns. circa 1790s there was another big migration with this family: My ancestors (Aaron, son of James and another brother) migrated to the Pendleton District SC & later generations migrated in 1840 to MS (all part of the Free State of Jones movement). Gideon Welborn migrated to Georgia. James & Isabelle migrated w/many of their offspring (Ruth Welborn Wilson included) to Kentucky.
