A marriage that came as a surprise to many of their Carroll Countyfriends, was that of Mr. H erman Prill of Glidden and Miss Hazel Parsonsdaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Parsons of Car roll, which took placeMonday, November 5, at Missouri Valley, at the home of the officiatin gclergyman, Rev. Mr. Kearns pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
The bride was attired in brown velvet with brown picture hat. theyvisited inOmaha and othe r points last week.
Mr. Prill has been employed in the McNaught store for a number ofyears, and after two we eks vacation will resume workthere.
Herman is one of our fine young men and his bride is a popularyounglady with the Carrol l folks. They will reside in Glidden and receivethecongratulations of their many friends.

Begun in 1935 by the Social Security Act signed into law by FDR, more than thirty million Americans were registered for the economic security sanctions by 1937. From 1937 to 1940, payments were made in one-lump sums amounts with the first amount being seventeen cents. Following amendments in 1939, the payments turned into monthly benefits and increased.
