WRITTEN BY LOUISE PRILL KLUEGEL:
Henry A. Prill - My Father
My father was born near Ft. Laramie, Wyoming, during the time that his parents were meandering through the West. After Grandfather Prill settled down, he bought land near Glidden, Iowa where many of that family spent the rest of their lives. My father was one of them who farmed near Glidden until he retired in 1917.
For sometime my father "Batched" on a farm he bought four miles south and one half mile west of Glidden. he also worked by grandfathers farm, when grandfather retired. About 1905 he bought another farm in Glidden Township, on which he built his permanent home where he resided until moving to Glidden. This farm is on highway 289 and at the present belongs to Mrs Carrie Prill [date unknown] and eighty acres of it to Mr and Mrs. Henry Fleshner, it being sold to them after the death of my parents.
Father and Mother were married Nov. 12, 1899. To them were born twin children, eight of whom are living. They are Dick, Henry, Herman, Minnie (Mrs. Henry Fleshner); Jane (Mrs. John Loeschen); Recka (Mrs.William Janssen); Lena (Mrs. Ray Bowes) and Louise. Louie died in 1904, at the age of fourteen and Louis in 1912 at the age of two years.
Father was kind, gentle, and very much reserved. He provided his family with the necessities of life; always planning for
