John Woolman Winslow, another early settler, was to refer to Pasquotank Co. and the Albemarle Country, as 'yon in that unusually sickly place.'"

Sarah was 18 when they married at a public mtg. at Newbegun Creek. They had two sons, and Sarah died at age 22, three months after Pritchard was born.
In 1814 he married Peggy at the Narrows MM. With her and the two baby sons, they joined a wagon train in early 1815 for new and healthier lands. He had two horses to pull his wagon over a 1,000 mile trip that ended on Jul 17 1815. The train, eight wagons in all, included James Trueblood and his young wife, in a wagon pulled by one horse. Also included were the WHITES, SYMONS, PRITCHARDS and other families of the Symons Creek Friends. Joshua and Nathan Trueblood and their families, and the Matthew Coffin's were along.
These families and others, were the founders of the Old Blue River Friends Meeting in July, 1815.
Jehoshaphat had two horses to pull his wagon when they left Elizabeth City, NC, in early 1815, for their long trip to Indiana, over 1,000 miles away that ended on July 7, 1815. Also included in the eight wagon train were the families of Trueblood, White, Symons, Pritchard, and other families of the Symons Creek Friends. Matthew Coffin was included also. Joshua Trueblood was charged with selecting and purchasing land for his sister and brother-in-law, Benoni Morris, who planned to stop over in Randolph Co., NC for a year and arrive in Indiana in 1816.
It has been reported that at least 7 Morris families migrated to Indiana during this period. Five were children of Aaron, and at least one, Benoni, from Aaron's brother, Joshua's family. Jehoshaphat and his little family were among the first to arrive. His brother Aaron, migrated in 1818 and apparently so did his sister, Sarah (Morris) Bogue, in the same year.
It is reported that the wagon train followed a trail west, along or near the border of NC and VA to Cumberland Gap, where VA and NC and TN join, at which point it was necessary for the wagons to ascend a 1500 ft. mountain. Thence down a valley to Corbin, KY, and to Lexington and on to Louisville. From Charlestown, they followed an Indian trail, 25 or 30 miles to Blue River. The trip took eight or ten weeks, perhaps. Jehoshaphat was a faithful member of the Friends Society during his lifetime. There are a number of references to him in the records of the Old Blue River
(Hicksite) Meeting, beginning in 1828, as follows:
1828 - Jehoshaphat appointed trustee
1829 - " apointed an elder
1834 - " of Washington Co., son of Aaron and Lydia, both deceased, of Pasquotank Co., NC married Susanna Nixon, widow, at Blue River MM
1837 - Jehoshaphat appointed an elder
1841 - " with John W. Winslow, appointed to examine books of births and deaths.
