Cir 1863. Judging by the age difference and age of Flora Belle (about 6 years old), the pic was taken of Flora Belle and her brother Spencer Allen Briggs about 1863.
When I was a little boy, I remember my father, Raymond S. Briggs, Sr. talking about his Aunt Flora and Uncle Will. He seemed to be very fond of them.

The funeral of the late Mrs. W. B. Swearingentook place yesterday afternoonat 3 o'clock from the late residence, 917 Court street. Rev. W. T. Hilton, pastor of the Central Christian church, conducted the services. The floral offerings were beautiful. The services at the home were private. A quartet composed of E. E. Ellingwood, C. C. Yelton, H. L. York, and Lee J. Dillman sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Son of My Soul," and "It is Well with My Soul." The pall bearers were W. L. McDownald, E.F. O'Leary, W.J. Elliott, D. P. McCall, Mr. Westfall and Mr. Goetting. The flower bearers, W. M. Gamble, Mrs. D. W. Turner and Mrs. Brushkin. The burial was in the family lot at Roselawn cemetery, in charge of McCarthy's.
