    Schloss und Gut Schweinspoint

    Der Ort war Lehengut der Graisbacher. Die Burg soll inmitten dichter Eichenwälder, in denen es viele Wildschweine gab, gestanden haben. Die Schloßherren beschäftigten sich mit der Zähmung und Aufzucht der Schweine, woraus sich der Ortsname erklärt. Berühmtester Sproß der Schweinspointer Ministerialen war Diepold, der es um 1190 im Heer Kaiser Heinrichs VI. zu großen Ehren brachte. In der kaiserlosen Zeit nach dem Tod Heinrichs wurde er, inzwischen Herzog von Spoleto, einer der einflußreichsten Männer in Unteritalien.
    1430 kauften dieReichsmarschälle von Pappenheim das Dorf, 1544 erwarb Ottheinrich von Pfalz-Neuburg die Hofmark und von 1683 bis 1849 waren die Freiherrn von Hacke Ortsherren. Sie teilten und verkauften ihren Besitz.
