Johann III.von Morrien (Genoemd 1378-1398) werd geboren omstreeks 1325. Na de dood van zijn vader rond 1353 volgde hij hem op als heer van Nordkirchen, Burgmann van Botzlar en Erfmaarschalk van Münster. Rond 1363 trouwde hij met Richmode Hake en in 1370 namhij het baljuwschap over met de jurisdictie en het bestuur van Nordkirchen. In 1393 kreeg hij de boerderij Nordkirchen als pand en rond 1400 bouwde Johann von Morrien de oudere waterburcht Nordkirchen .
