    Henrik heeft van jongs af aan een meoilijk leven gehad, kon niet aan de vrouw komen en had weinig interesse voor de boerderij. Daarentegen giing het met Broer Bernard erg goed. Vrouw Lena was veel ziek geweest en l=stierf uiteindelijk aan TBC . Hij bleef achter met 7kinderen.


    Van zijn broer Bernard kon hij niet veel verwachten, veelal lieten ze hem links liggen, en ook wilden ze dat hij zijn arbeidershuisje zou verlaten zodat dit kon worden bewoond door, een kencht.


    Hendrik werd steeds depressiever, watuireindelijk leed tot zelfdoding.

De kinderen werden geboren tussen 1917 en 1937. Het eerste kind Helena Adelheid werd geboren als  buiten-echtelijk en werd later als derde kind gewettigd van Hendrik.

They got married on January 24, 1919 at Odoorn, Borger-Odoorn, Drenthe, Netherlands, he was 42 years old.

Lena was zwnger van een Duitse jongeman, die haar uiteindelijk toch heeft verlaten omdat hij al gehuwd was. Uiteindelijk zou Lena bevallen in het geiheim en gaanhaar ouders mbv de pastoor op zoek naar een goede echtgenoot. Hendrik Hoezen leek eengechikt partner. De boerenzoon, nog steeds crijgezel en van katholieke kolonisten uit het Duitsland afstammend. Gelijk


aan die van Lena.


Na overleg met de familie Hoezen, komen de beide families tot een zakelijkijke overeenkomst.
