<p><p dir="ltr">TEkst van het bidprentje;</p></p><p><p dir="ltr"> </p></p><p><p dir="ltr">" Het is een lang en  welbesteed leven geweest, waaraan nog vrij onverwacht een einde is gekomen. Hij was de oudste parochiaan van Weiteveen. Hij besefte heel goed dat iedere dag en ieder jaar een gave is van God. Dat is het altijd, maar zeker als je eenmaal zo'n leeftijd hebt bereikt. In de laatste jaren  van zijn leven , toe hij vaak door ziekte en pijn werd gekweld. zei hij wel een; "Bidt maar een Onze VAder, dat God me komt halen" Dat tekent zijn geloof, waaraan hij heel zijn leven uitig heeft gegeven "</p></p><p><p dir="ltr">"Hij heeft in zijn lange leven jaren gekend van hard werkenen zwoegen in het veen en daarnaast nog op zijn boerderij. Hij heeft  het leed gekend van de plotselinge dood  van zijn vrouw in 1974. Wie lang heeft, moet veel meemaken. Maar hij heeft ookhet geluk mogen beleven van een mooie oude dag, het rustig genieten van het verleden en het heden, eerst in zijn eigen huis, daarna inwonend bij een van de kinderen en tenslotte in de Veltmanstichting.</p></p><p dir="ltr">"" Hij was een tevredenman, nog vol belangstelling voor alles wat te maken had met het leven van zijn kinderen, klein- en achtekleinkinderen, meeleven met hun lief en leed. Zij mogen dankbaar zijn, dat zij hem zo lang in hun midden mochten hebben en dat hij rustig, zonder veel pijn en lijden , is heengegaan uit dit aardse leven. Zij mogen ook een voorbeeld  nemen aan zijn diep geloof, dat hem heel zijn leven is bijgebleven."</p>
