    Kwam in de Bevolkingsregisters van Emmen, in huurcontracten, enz. niet voor. Wel staat hij op de bewonerslijst van pastoor Vroom van 1872. Sommigen zijn in 1872 naar hier gekomen, anderen woonden er waarschijnlijk al langer.


    Haar vader Joseph Teiken, geboren op 26-8-1836 in Schwartenberg, heeft in BargerCompascuum de eerste jaren blijkbaar op zijn eentje gewoond in het Voor-Compas, op plaats 16.Hij trouwde op 25-5-1875 te Emmen met Anna Angela Borgmann .Zij overleed al op 9-9-1878 na de geboorte van hun tweede kind. Dat kind stierf 10 dagen later bij zijn familie in Schwartenberg.


    Josef Teiken hertrouwde op 10-9-1880 te Emmen met Maria Gezina Kramer, geboren 5-12-1847 in Zandberg. De naam Teiken veranderde toen in Theijken doordat de pastoor van Rütenbrock die zijn geboortebewijs afgaf, die naam toen zo schreef.


     


    Joseph Theijken overleed op 21-11-1915 in het Voor-Compas, zijn vrouw stierf op 29-11-1919 in Barger-Oosterveld bij haar dochter.


     


    De Teikens stammen via Schwartenberg van Waldhöfe bij Sögel.
