Duurd werd ook genaamd Duijrt Rijpema en Duiert, wonende te Ferwerd (Fer).


Hij was Beneficiant van het Sint Chritophorileen van 1685 tot 1700. Doet in de begevingsvergadering van 1 februari 1700 afstand van het bezit van het leen. Woont volgens aantekening in archief St. Chr. leen in 1715 te Grijpskerk en in 1723 te Kollum. Is de studie niet goed gegaan? Volgens Elema en Van der Ley komt hij in 1707, 1709 en 1710 te Ferwerd voor als herbergier. Het is echter ook mogelijk dat hij dit combineerde met een functie als stoker/destillateur van sterke drank. Het destilleren (van geneeskundige drankjes) was nl. een van de vakgebieden waarin destijds apothekers in hun opleiding werden bekwaamd. Het maken van sterke drank lag in het verlengde daarvan en leverde in sommige plaatsen meer geld op dan een apotheek. Hij werd burger van Dokkum per 8 juni 1717.
Duirt (die kennelijk geen lidmaat was) bleek ten tijde van zijn tweede huwelijk in 1720 (= derde huwelijk - JL) burger te Dokkum te zijn: hij heette toen Duird Elema van Ripma, burger te Dokkum. De kinderen uit dat huwelijk werden echter te Kollum gedoopt."

Duurd también se llamaba Duijrt Rijpema y Duiert, viviendo en Ferwerd (Fer).


Fue Beneficiario de San Cristóbal de 1685 a 1700. Renunció a la posesión del feudo en la asamblea del 1 de febrero de 1700. Vive según una nota en el archivo St. Chr. prestado en 1715 en Grijpskerk y en 1723 en Kollum. ¿No salió bien el estudio? Según Elema y Van der Ley aparece en Ferwerd en 1707, 1709 y 1710 como posadero. Sin embargo, también es posible que combinara esto con una función como destilador/destilador de licores. La destilación (de pociones medicinales) era una de las disciplinas en las que se formaban los farmacéuticos en su formación en aquella época. Hacer licores era una extensión de eso y en algunos lugares rendía más dinero que una farmacia. Se convirtió en ciudadano de Dokkum el 8 de junio de 1717.
Duirt (que aparentemente no era miembro) resultó ser ciudadano de Dokkum en el momento de su segundo matrimonio en 1720 (= tercer matrimonio - JL): su nombre era entonces Duird Elema van Ripma, ciudadano de Dokkum. Sin embargo, los hijos de ese matrimonio fueron bautizados en Kollum".
