Historie Martenastate

Ook de oude grafheuvel van Martenastate is zeker een bezoekje waard. De grafheuvel is door de eeuwen heen volledig in tact gebleven, iets wat niet vaak voorkomt in Friesland. Op de grafheuvel vindt u het familiegraf van familie Vegelin van Claerbergen. De grafheuvel ligt de oostzijde van het natuurkampeerterrein, omzoomd door verschillende monumentale beuken.

Martenastate is een landgoed gelegen in het dorp Koarnjum, fraai gesitueerd, op enkele kilometers van Leeuwarden. Martenastate omhelst een landhuis, een park, een natuurkampeerterrein en een grafheuvel.
