While Robert Charles Anderson's various Great Migration publications and newsletters give the wife of Edward Hutchinson as Susanna ______________ (based on parish registers of Alford which do not give her maiden name), researchers have uncovered what is believed the marriage of Edward and Susanna in Theddlethorp, nearby Alford, giving her maiden name as Turtle which has led to her father's willDate: 1599-1601 Repository: Lincolnshire Archives [057] Reference Name INV/94/171 Name: Turtle, William Place: Alford, [Lincolnshire] Date: 1599-1601 TO PURCHASE COPY: https://www.lincstothepast.com/buy-image/ for 5 pounds. and thus identification of her family.

After her husband's death, Susanna emigrated to New England with her daughter Mary and her daughter's husband Rev. John Wheelwright.: ...widow Susanna Hutchinson...After becoming widowed, she left four grown children behind in England, and in 1636, at the age of around 70 years, arrived in New England with the family of her daughter Mary Wheelwright.... lived Wells, Maine by 1642.
