2 !Gerald W. Cook puts Aaron as a son of William (son of Humphrey) for the purpose of having him appear in his research documents. He is NOT proven to be the son of William. [30] I think that Aaron was possibly thought to be the son of William and Sarah for two reasons. One is that Aaron had children named William and Sarah. The other is that William and Sarah had a daughter named Lucy born in the time frame of Aaron's birth. [CAS].
2 !I feel that Aaron is the grandson of Humphrey Felts that died in Surry Co. VA 1713-5. Based upon tax records and the will of Humphrey, I think Humphrey's children were born about 1677-1700. The Albemarle Parish records start in 1738, just after Aaron was born. [CAS].

2 !At the age of fifteen he was kidnapped and forced into the British Army; the hardships suffered there and the heavy accoutrements of war carried at this age made him round shouldered. He was with Washington at Braddock's defeat. He despised the British because of their cruelty to him, and fought against them under Washington during the Revolutionary War. [1].

This day came the Plaintiff by his Attorney and the Defendant having been duly served with a Copy of the Plaintifs Petition and account and Sum___ and now called and not appearing the Plaintifs Agent made Oath to the justness of his Demand amounting to three pounds fourteen shillings (also 71 pounds of tobacco and 7 shillings and 6 pence). Therefore it is Considered that the Plaintif recover the same against the said Deft. and his Costs by him in this behalf expended with a Lawyers Fee. Aaron Felts purchased the items on credit for 3 Pounds, 14 shillings, on 28th SEP 1752.

*Legend on FamilySearch.org:There is a legend about the first Felts (Phelps) who came into Wilkes County, NC and from records found, it is truly legend. Aaron Felts was born about 1737 of Scotish-Irish descent. At the age of 15, he was kidnapped and forced into the British Army. The hardships suffered there and the heavy accoutrements of war carried at this young age, made him round shouldered. While still serving under a forced draft, he met and married Mollie Collier in 1760 in the Tidewater Area of Virginia. Aaron despised the British because of their cruelty, escaped the British and joined the Continental Army. He fought against the British with General Washington during the Revolutionary War and was with Gen. Washington at Braddock's defeat.
