== Biography ==:One of the interesting and much debated problems in genealogy has been the parentage of ''Mayflower'' passenger Susanna, wife successively of ''Mayflower'' passengers William White and Gov. Edward Winslow. This problem was recently solved and her ancestry published in ''The American Genealogist''. The American Genealogist, vol. 89 no. 4 (October 2017): 241-264. ''The Origin of Mayflower Passenger Susanna1 (Jackson) (White) Winslow'', by Caleb Johnson, Sue Allen and Simon Neal. Her father was this Richard Jackson.

=== Death ===
:'''Died:'''Last record of him is his 10 July 1624 letter to his brother Robert. He is not mentioned in Robert's will of 10 Feb 1624/5 suggesting that he may have died between those two dates.
=== Notes ===:Richard Jackson matriculated as a sizar from St. John's College, Cambridgeshire in Michaelmas 1579. This is the same year that Robert Southworth started at St. John's College. This is undoubtedly where Richard Jackson began forming friends and connections with those who would become part of the separatist community in Leiden, Holland. It appears that he did not receive a degree from St. John's as their is no evidence of him ever having any religious appointments. Richard Jackson, age 22, school master of Braithwell was a witness to a lawsuit c1583-1585. In 1590 he was appointed schoolmaster in nearby Tickhill, Yorkshire.
:His 1623 letter to his brother Robert suggests that he had just returned from Holland. As there is no record of him in England between 1608 and this 1623 letter, he may have been in Leiden during this time. No record of him or his wife has been found in Leiden, although there are records of other Pettingers there.
