Volgens deze bronnen zijn Philip en Anna getrouwd in __Delft__ op __2 november 1870__.
In de gemeentearchieven van Delft kan ik de huwelijksakte echter niet vinden. Een tweede reden voor gegronde twijfel is het feit dat voor Philip op 14 maart 1871 (dus na de vermeende huwelijksvoltrekking in Delft, Nederland) een paspoort is afgegeven door de stads-magistraat in Oldenburg. Vervolgens is Philip in het vreemdelingenregister van Amsterdam ingeschreven op 8 mei 1971. Het is dus zeer onwaarschijnlijk dat Philip en Anna al voor deze datum in Nederland zijn getrouwd.

In mijn optiek zijn er 2 mogelijkheden:

* Philip en Anna zijn wel degelijk op 2 november 1870 getrouwd, maar dan in (de buurt van) Oldenburg
* Philip en Anna zijn pas na aankomst in Nederland getrouwd maar dan waarschijnlijk niet in Delft.

Mogelijke verwarring met:

* de huwelijksdag van dochter Catharina op __2 november__ 1892.
* de overlijdensplaats van Philip (__Delft__, 1921)
* En nog iets: Dochter Catharina is geboren op 23 augustus 1871. Tellen we 9 maanden terug dan komen we uit in november 1870!

Heel jammer is dat op geen enkele gezinskaart en registratie de huwelijksdatum en/of plaats wordt vermeld. Dus dat levert verder geen aanknopingspunten op. Wel wordt steeds de burgerlijke staat met "H" aangeduid.

Daarom moeten we toch ook rekening houden met onderstaande mogelijkheid:
* Philip en Anna zijn in werkelijkheid nooit getrouwd. Dit zou te maken kunnen hebben met het feit dat Philip volgens de overlevering is gedeserteerd uit het leger tijdens de Frans-Duitse oorlog van 1870-1871.
