Together 3 parts in 1 volume. 4to. [VIII],144; 23; [XII],139p. Contemp. vellum. Interleaved copy with extra blanks at end; first work browned. The first part has an extra title dated 1665; the second part (Weytsen's treatise) with own title with imprint 's-Gravenhage, J.Doll 1651.
First work: An early edition of a major source for the genesis of commercial law. It contains the so-called 'Wisbyan compilation', a maritime code pretended to have been agreed at Wisbuy (Gotland), printed in Holland for the first time in 1588. It is followed by a great number of proclamations, ordinances, etc. on maritime affairs issued since 1551. *Kress has similar editions dated 1648, 1698 and 1700. EHB has no edition prior to 1700. Goudsmit p.148.
Second work: First edition of an early treatise on maritime law which remained a standard work on the subject for a long period. Taco van Glins (1619-1673) was professor at the university of Franeker since 1667. *Dekkers p.63,2. Kress has an edition of 1695 (1892). (#24382)
