On Nov 24, 1787 he married Luise Caroline Freiin Geyer von Geyersberg, member of an old family of the imperial nobility, immatriculated as imperial knights. Her father was Obristlieutenant (in the armies of Baden) Ludwig Heinrich Philipp Freiherr Geyer von Geyersberg, her mother Maximiliane Christiane, born Gräfin von Sponeck.
