Notes about Elisabeth Hamilton

Maasstroom en la Prosperité waren maar voor de helft in zijn bezit. De andere helft was eigendom van de firma weduwe Hamilton en Meyners te Rotterdam. Weduwe Hamilton had betrekking op Elizabeth Hamilton, dochter van Archibald Hamilton die in 1696 in Belfast geboren was en in 1723 in Dordrecht met Elizabeth Rees trouwde. De andere eigenaar van de firma was Johan Gerard François Meyners die in 1720 in Rotterdam geboren was. Hij trouwde in 1746 met Elisabeth Hamilton. In 1749 werd hij schepen te Rotterdam. In 1766 werd hij door de vroedschap benoemd tot commissarisdirecteur van den Levantschen handel en de navigatie in de Middellandsche Zee. Zijn broer, Gerard François, was een paar keer burgemeester van Rotterdam en bewindvoerder van de Kamer van de VOC in Rotterdam.
