Amsterdam Wester Kerk 27-3-1640 ("Jaques van Nuffelen), is bij zijn huwelijk 35 jaar oud en wonend op de OZ Achterburchwal (1616), reeder en koopman op de Middellandse Zee, onder de firma Jacomo & Marco van Uffelen, koopt op 8-7-1620 voor ƒ 12.125,-- samen met Lekert Sweersz het huis Messina (thans Heerengracht 164), woonde eerst in de Nieuwe Hoogstraat in 't Wapen van Portugal en bij zijn overlijden op de Heerengracht over de Driekoningenstraat (1640), betaalt in 1631 als Jacques van Uffelen, wonend op de Keysersgracht, ƒ 250,-- Tweehonderdste Penning, was deelnemer aan de inpoldering en exploitatie van de Horstermeer, verzamelaar van Italiaanse schilderijen,[163] huw. get (1638), otr./tr. 1o Amsterdam geref. 13-1/9-2-1616 (get. haar vader Arent van Erp, Maria Arents van Erp, ged. geref. Amsterdam Oude Kerk 12-9-1593, ovl. 1616-1618, dr. van Aer(nou)t van Erp, zeemleerhandelaar te Antwerpen, handelaar in Zweedsch koper, en O.Z. Huiszittenmr te Amsterdam, en van Geertruy Willemsdr Fennes, otr. 2o Amsterdam geref. 7-9/16-10-1618, Susanna de Haze (Hase), geb. 1587, beg. Amsterdam Nieuw Kerk 29-8-1658, wed. van Jaques Marchijs/Mercijs, wordt als wed. van Jacomo van Uffle in april 1658 vermeld als hoofd-participant van de West-Indische Compagnie ter Camere Amsterdam, uit wier boedel het huis Messina in 1675 werd verkocht aan Philips De Flines voor ƒ 38.000,--, dr. van Hendrick de Haze, koopman te Amsterdam, en Clara Coymans.
