Bij de notarisakte van het derde huwelijk is hij niet in staat deze te ondertekenen. De notaris tekent voor hem met een handmerk (de hoofdletter Z) en schrijft zijn naam als Goort Pietersz alias Doot. Godefridus plaatste op 19-6-1652 onder een overeenkomst (betreffende de koop, door hem, van boekweit) een handmerk (kon dus niet schrijven).
woonde in het Oudeland van Steenbergen; zijn nageslacht werd Bierens genoemd naar de naam van zijn moeder.
