Notes about Gijsbert van der Hoop

HOOP (Mr. Gijsbert van der) zoon van Cornelis, heer van Stormspolder, en van Maria Anna van der Putte, werd geboren te Schoonhoven, 12 November 1721, en overleed te Amsterdam, in Mei 1783.
Hij was commies ter griffie van hunhoogmogenden en nouvellenschrijver van den raad van state, doch werd tusschentijds in 1745, op voorstel van den generaal graaf Maurits van Nassau, commissaris bij de troepen van den staat, welke alstoen naar Engeland werden gezonden.
Door zijn huwelijk in 1748 met Anna Constantia Romswinckel, (geb. 1728, overl. 1778) dochter van Matthijs en van Constantia Elout, verplaatste hij zich naar Amsterdam en werd hoofd van het handelshuis aldaar door zijn schoonvader gevestigd.
