Edelsmid Arent Wouters Vosmaer en Maria Cornelisdr van Hoogestraet (Maritgen Cornelisdr van Hoogstraten) hadden drie zonen die kunstschilder waren nl.: Abraham Vosmaer, Claes Vosmaer en Daniël Vosmaer. Het gezin woonde aan het Oude Delft.
Abraham werd in Delft geboren in 1618. Op 3 juni van dat jaar werd hij gedoopt. Abraham was lid van het Delftse Sint-Lucasgilde vanaf 1639. Hij schilderde stillevens, vruchtenstillevens en visstillevens.
Abraham Arentsz Vosmaer was een neef van kunstschilder Jacob Vosmaer, die vermoedelijk zijn leermeester was. Hij was werkzaam in Delft van 1639—1650 en in Brielle van 1650—1660.
Op 19 april 1643 huwde Abraham met Adriana de Jong(h) bij wie hij vier dochters kreeg; Catharina (1644), Maria (1646), Margrieta (1651), Margrieta (1658). Enkelen van zijn kinderen stierven zeer jong. Adriana was afkomstig uit (buiten) Den Briel (Brielle). Het gezin ging aan de Voorstraat wonen en verhuisde later naar Brielle. Daar was het waarschijnlijk waar Abraham in of na 1660 overleed. Hij overleed in ieder geval na 15 juli 1660.
