Nachrichten von der Familie von Bennigsen / verfasst von Landrat Gustav Rudolph von Bennigsen-Förder etwa im Jahre 1796:
"Adelheid Sybilla.
Gemahl Wilhelm von Reden auf Hastenbeck.
Adelheid Sybilla war die letzte Erbtochter der mit Erich anfangenden Linie. Die durch sie veranlasste Absonderung des Allodium vom Lehen trennte einen bedeutenden Teil des Gutes Bennigsen und wandte es der Familie von Reden zu, welche noch im Besitz derselben ist. Fast hundertjährige Prozesse waren die Folge davon. Die Sage lässt sie deshalb noch zu gewissen Zeiten in Bennigsen erscheinen, aus dem Turm vor dem Wohnhaus heraustreten, um den Brunnen gehen und wieder in dem Turm verschwinden. - Sie so wohl, als ihr Gemahl, Wilhelm von Reden, welcher Calenbergscher Landdrost war, lebten Anno 1668" (Anmerkung von Erich von Reden -geboren 19.2.1883- : "Nein! Wilhelm vR war 34-jährig 1662 gestorben")
