De Eysinga State stond ten oosten van Rinsumageest, gemeente Dantumadeel, aan de weg naar het tegenwoordige Damwoude.

Ontstaan
Het bouwjaar van de stins is niet bekend, maar dat moet in de 14e eeuw geweest zijn en kan zelfs in de 13e eeuw zijn geweest.
Geschiedenis
Rond 1400 woonde hier Feye Eysinga, "Hoveling Up der Gaest", getrouwd met Etcke Bornhuistra. In oude charters komt de naam ook als Asinga en Essingha voor.
Omstreeks 1450 woonde hier Gecke Eysinga. Hij had een dochter, Hack, die tweemaal trouwde. Eerst met Aede Keimpes Jongema uit Rauwerd (Jongema State) en daarna met Tjalling Bolta. Deze Tjalling nam de naam van zijn vrouw aan en noemde zicht voortaan Tjalling van Eysinga. Uit dit tweede huwelijk werd een zoon geboren, Feye van Eysinga, die volgens de beneficiaalboeken van 1543 te Rinsumageest resideerde. Hij was met een Hermana uit Minnertsga getrouwd en uit dit huwelijk werd weer een dochter Hack geboren, die met Botte Wilco van Holdinga van de Holdinga State te Anjum trouwde. Hun dochter Doedt trouwde met Georg Wolfgang baron thoe Schwarzenberg en Hohenlansberg van Groot Terhorne te Beetgum. Zo is Eysinga State in handen van de al schatrijke familie Thoe Schwarzenberg en Hohenlansberg gekomen. Achtereenvolgens hebben Johan Onuphrius, Georg Wilco en Wilco Holdinga thoe Schwarzenberg en Hohenlansberg op Eysinga State gewoond. Ook in de 18e eeuw bleef deze familie in Rinsumageest wonen. Drie broers hebben op de state gewoond. Eerst Georg Wolfgang die grietman was van Dantumadeel en later van Menaldumadeel en overleed in 1739. Daarna Jan Sicco, generaal der infanterie en gouverneur van Namen, overleden te Rinsumageest in 1757. Tenslotte de jongste van de drie, Michael Onuphrius, die van 1725-1758 grietman was. De zoon van Michael, Wilco, stierf in 1788 als laatste mannelijke telg van deze tak van de familie Thoe Schwarzenberg en Hohenlansberg.
