Antwerpen en er gedoopt in de St.-Jacobskerk 22 juni 1599, † te Westmalle 3 augustus 1659, huwde 22 oktober 1628 met Margot de Wassenaere, geb. 13 december 1593 en overleden te Westmalle op 11 november 1660, oud 63 jaar. Zij was de dochter van de heer van Warmont. De steen met hun grafschrift werd later ingemetseld in de hall van het kasteel te Westmalle. Hierop lezen we: D.O.M. Nobilis ac generosvs dns. Robertus de Cotereau dns. de / Westmal, Zoersele, Woestmeerbeeck, et n. etc. D. / Margareta de Wasse-naer, conivges, ambo genere / Virtute praeclari hac vita defuncti meloirem exspectat, / Ille a° MDCLIX, III augusti aetatis LX, haec anno sequente / XI novemb. aetatis LXIII, Odilia vero utriusqve filia obiit / A° MDCLIII, I martü.
