Sir Alexander Lindsay, 4th Earl of Crawford was the son of Sir David Lindsay, 3rd Earl of Crawford and Marjory Ogilvy.
He married Margaret Dunbar, daughter of Sir David Dunbar of Cockburn.
He died in September 1453 at Finhaven Castle, Angus, Scotland.
He was buried at Grey Friars Church, Dundee, Angus, Scotland.
Sir Alexander Lindsay, 4th Earl of Crawford also went by the nick-name of 'Earl Beardie'.
