Notes about Susanna James

James Develing married Susanna JAMES on 17thAugust 1835 at Kilmaganny Church of Ireland. The marriage certificate has scant information on it with regard to ages, occupation, parents etc but the witnesses were Robert DEVELING and Charles DEVELING.

Susanna, was “of this parish” on the marriage certificate; but she was born in Walcot, near Bath Somerset in 1809 the daughter of Thomas JAMES and Susanna BECK. Her family appears to have lived in Somerset so she may have been in Kilmaganny on her own.

A daughter Matilda was born to James and Susan on 10 June 1836 and baptised on 17 July 1836 at Kilmaganny.

Susanna lived until 10th November1886 and died at Bambra and was buried in Deans Marsh Cemetery. She died of“old age and debility.”
