Op 19 februari 1812 verklaart Jan Tabes dat hij aanneemt als familienaam Aardema voor zich en zijn zonen Sijtse, 25 jaar, Tabe, 20 jaar, Jelle, 17 jaar, Bauke, 12 jaar en dochters IJttje, oud 27 jaar en Antje, 22 jaar, allen wonende te Ureterp.

Op 31 juli 1824 neemt Sijtse Jans Aardema samen met 6 anderen aan het slatten (=uitbaggeren en verwijderen van de begroeiing) van enige wijken te Siegerswoude voor rekening van Eeuwe Jans.

Op 17 october 1826 neemt Bauke Jans Aardema te Drachten samen met 11 anderen aan het slatten en verdiepen van de Langewijk te Drachten voor rekening van Alle Wijtzes van der Sluis te Hemrik voor een bedrag van ƒ 1322,--.

In 1832 staat Sijtse Jans Aardema voor de grondbelasting genoterd als eigenaar van sectie D, perceel 286, 3027 c.a. bouwland en sectie D, perceel 287, 1.42.87 ha heide.
