Notes about Jan Manten

Jan Manten was niet zo aan Loosdrecht gebonden als zijn voorouders. Na zijn huwelijk vestigde hij zich in Naarden waar hij ongeveer drie jaar woonde. (1864-1867) . Vervolgens woonde hij van 1867 tot 1884 in Huizen. Jan was landbouwer en op 1 mei 1884 kwam hij terecht in Eemnes op de boerderij Wakkerendijk 112. Voor hem had Arian Blom hier geboerd. Jan en Maria kregen zeven kinderen: vier dochters en drie zonen. Bij de oudste dochter waren er onduidelijkheden wat betreft de voornaam: in het bevolkingsregister en in familiepapieren heet ze Aaltje of Aaltje Maria; voor de burgerlijke stand heet ze Maria. We houden ons hier maar aan het laatste!
