Bijnaam: d' ouwe reet.
Frans was toneelmeester, timmerman en decorbouwer van Musis Sacrum. Hij heeft, in Hilversum aan de Nassaulaan, gepoogd om twee personen uit een zinkput van dhr. Kok te redden. Bond een rode zakdoek met Eau de Cologne voor de mond en sprong zo in de put, en haalde twee bedwelmde personen naar boven. Werkman H.J. van Zanden die voor schoonmaakwerkzaamheden in de put was afgedaald raakte bedwelmd. Zijn collega, Werkman J. Jongerden, daalde af om Van Zanden te redden maar ook hij raakte bedwelmd. Dhr. Kok waarschuwde de gemeentewerken. Van Zanden zou het niet overleven. Brandweerman Lok en Koffrie kregen beiden f 50,-- beloning voor hun acties. Koffrie kreeg bovendien een vergoeding voor zijn bedorven kleding. Beiden kregen een bronzen eerepenning voor "Menschlievend Hulpbetoon" en een loffelijk getuigschrift.
