Iedereen kende Alardus als verkeersregelaar bij het hoofdpostkantoor in Hilversum. Voor velen beter bekend als Nardus of Nannus of "kom maar hoor, kom maar". Na het verblijf in de caravan bij De Cocon aan de Anthony Fokkerweg in Hilversum is Alardus bijna 2,5 jaar lang verzorgd in Verpleegtehuis De Harscamp van het Leger des Heils in Baarn.
