De familie Beuken was een muzikale familie. Gerard Beuken zong meer dan 50 jaar in het kerkkoor "Cantate Domino. Zoon Gé zong jaren in het jongenskoor en later in het gelegenheidskoor dat uitvaarten begeleidt. Dochter Thiem trouwde met musicus Toon Vermeulen en is de moeder van koordrigent Rob Vermeulen. Dochter Bep Rademaker-Beuken leidde in Soest geruime tijd een kinderkoor en een gelegenheidskoor van de H. Familie-kerk. Bijna alle kleinkinderen zijn met muziek bezig. Zoon Ton Beuken leerde met zijn zesde noten lezen en zong van toen af in het Nicolaas-jongenskoor onder de inspirerende en professionele leiding van Carel Laôut. Na zijn huwelijk verhuisde hij naar het Noord-Hollandse Ursem, waar hij twintig jaar dirigent was van het plaatselijke kerkkoor. Toen dat ophield te bestaan, werd een beroep op hem gedaan om de kerkkoren van het naburige Westbeemster te dirigeren, hetgeen hij inmiddels 18 jaar doe. Op 19 april 2009 werd hem door pastor Jan Duin na de Hoogmis in de St. Johannes-de Doperkerk te Westbeemster, waarbij het vijftig jarig huwelijk van Ton en Riet Beuken werd gevierd, de gouden Gregoriusedaille uitgereikt als dank voor zijn inzet gedurende 69 jaar voor de kerkmuziek.
