Bijzonder is dat er ten tijde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog geen kinderen zijn geboren.
Wat is daarvan de reden geweest?

Alleen het kind Dingena is geboren in Fijnaart, alle overige zijn in Willemstad geboren.
Het is eveneens niet duidelijk wat daarvan de reden is.

Vanaf 16 juni 1919 woont neef Adriaan de Wit (zoon van broer Antonie) even bij het gezin, nadat zijn ouders in Den-Haag zijn overleden.

In de overlijdensakte van dochter Neeltje wordt als beroep genoemd 'expediteur'.
Onduidelijk is welke betekenis hieraan moet worden gegeven, verder wordt hij genoemd als arbeider of als veldarbeider.
