    KW 154 "Minister Heemskerk"

    Op 17 juli 1918 is de KW 154 "Minister Heemskerk" vertrokken voor de trawlvisserij op de Noordzee. Op 25 juli heeft schipper Gerrit Plug van de IJM 65 een schip in de lucht zien vliegen. Deze schipper dreef zelf in zee, want zijn schip was ook geraakt door een mijn. Hij was de enige overlevende. Waarschijnlijk heeft hij de KW 154 zien ontploffen, want er is nooit meer iets van dit schip en de zes bemanningsleden vernomen.
    De bemanning bestond uit:
    Schipper Jacob Plokker, 24 jaar,
    Stuurman Gerrit Hoek, 21 jaar,
    Matroos Jacobus van Duijn, 26 jaar,
    Matroos Leendert de Best, 22 jaar,
    Matroos Jan van Rhijn, 17 jaar en
    Oudste Teunis van der Plas, 17 jaar.
