Notes about Luijten Wouters van der Mathe .

Luytgen was Luytgen Woutersz. een boer onder Schonauwen. Dat Luytgen boer is geweest kunnen we opmaken uit een akte voor schout en schepenen op 26 februari 1484, waarbij hij een halve hoeve verkoopt aan de 'Priorin ende ghemeen conneten van den Herberge elff duysent meechden Regularissen van Sint Augustijns oirde'. Luytgen was ten tijde van de verkoop van de halve hoeve ook schout en kon dus in die functie niet zijn eigen transactie behandelen. In de akte die is opgemaakt staat dan ook dat Luytgen zijn plaats als schout verliet en één van de aanwezige buren voor deze transactie de plaats van de schout innam, als zet-schout.
