Adrianus van der Wilt was landbouwer aan de Middelsluissedijk OZ 37, als opvolger van Klaas de Vos Pzn.

"Den eerste steen gelegd door Adr. van der Wilt, 28 july 1845", zo valt er te lezen. In de jaren ver daarna heeft men zich dikwijls afgevraagd wie deze van der Wilt was.
Volgens Henk Andeweg, de laatste molenaar van het Andeweg-geslacht, heeft zijn grootvader de molen overgenomen van de familie van der Wilt. Toch heeft er gewoon een Adrianus van der Wilt geleefd rond deze tijd. Op 2 oktober 1840 werd in Piershil Adrianus van der Wilt geboren. De zoon van Jan van der Wilt (geboren in 1814 te Goudswaard, overleden in 1846 te Piershil) en Geertruy Greyn (geboren in 1816 te Piershil) overleed op 19 maart 1924 te Numansdorp. Deze van der wilt piershilAdrianus had ook nog een zoon: eveneens Adrianus van der Wilt genaamd (geboren 20-7-1873 te Numansdorp). De oudste Adrianus zou dus ongeveer vijf jaar geweest zijn ten tijde van de plaatsing van de eerste steen. De eerste steen zou dus gelegd zijn door een kind,waarom ook niet? Het is ook mogelijk dat het gaat om Adriana van der Wilt, geboren in 1819 te Goudswaard. Bij molenaar Hans Hogenboom hebben zich ook nazaten van ene Van der Wilt gemeld die vertelden dat bleek dat hun overgrootvader de Piershilse molen had laten bouwen en dat hun overgrootvader ook de eerste molenaar was. Exacte gegevens over deze nazaten ontbreken, wellicht zullen ze in de toekomst via deze website nadere gegevens verstrekken.
