machinevlasbedrijf, dat Cornelis in 1883 verwierf. Hij werd zo de oprichter van vlasserij Corns. van
Nes BV. Hij was medeoprichter van "Een school met de bijbel"in Rijsoord. Hij steunde ds. Sleeswijk
Visser ten tijde van de doleantie samen met zijn broers Johannes en Florus. Tot zijn dood bleef hij
voorzitter van het schoolbestuur. Zijn zoon Adrianus reinen volgde hem daarin op.
