Notes about Jacobus Olivierus Sijmens (Jacobus, Olivierus, Sijmens) de Brabander

Jacob trouwde op 25-jarige leeftijd met Jannetje Heijmans. Uit dit 34-jarig durend huwelijk zijn geen kinderen bekend, of het moet de Petrus Jacobs Brabander zijn die rond 1757 is geboren. Doopgetuigen van zijn kinderen wijzen wel op een relatie maar zijn doop is niet gevonden.
Na het overlijden van Jacobs's eerste vrouw Jannetje hertrouwde Jacob op 61-jarige leeftijd met de 39-jarig jongere Neeltje van der Eijk. Uit dit huwelijk worden 8 kinderen geboren. De zonen laten zij RK dopen te Monster; de dochters worden protestant gedoopt te Naaldwijk. Jacob krijgt dus 8 kinderen tussen zijn 61-ste en 72-ste. Dat dit juist is, blijkt uit de volgende feiten:
- een aantal doopgetuigen van hun kinderen zijn broers en (schoon)zusters van Jacob. (Willem de Brabander en Caatje v.d. Keuken in 1762, Sijmen de Brabander en Marij [van Liendt] in 1763 en Isabelde Brabander en Philippus van Wingerden in 1769)
- Jacob overleed op bijna 73-jarige leeftijd als Jacob Sijmens de Brabander in 1774. In 1775 hertrouwde Neeltje van der Eijk met Cornelis Nieuwland en kreeg in 1776 nog een dochter.
