Leopold Gene Menard, 93, of Beaumont, died Monday, June 19, 2017. He was born on May 31, 1924, in Gardner, Massachusetts, to Beatrice Parise Menard and George P. Menard. Leopold was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, a home delivery Borden milkman, and an avid stamp collector. He enjoyed playing solitaire and dominoes, and he loved his pets.
Leopold was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and survived by his children, Phillip Menard, James Menard, and Karen Line and her husband, Dennis; granddaughter, Erin “Peanut” Line; nieces, Deany Lirette, Charlene Duplantis and her husband, E.J., and Carolyn Menard Crochet and her husband, John; numerous other nieces and nephews; and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty-eight years, Betty Menard; brother, Ted Menard; and sister, Grace Gosslin.
A gathering of Mr. Menard’s family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, #4 Bayou Brandt, Suite B, Beaumont, Texas 77704.
