Her proof of age states she was born at Colquite in the parish of St. Mabyn and baptised in the church there on 1 Sept. 1384, and is therefore aged 15.

He succeeded his father in 1400 as Earl of Oxford. m firstly (before 1400) ALICE de Holand, daughter of JOHN de Holand Duke of Exeter & his wife Elizabeth of Lancaster ([1392]-before 1406).

m secondly ([1406/07]) ALICE Sergeaux, widow of GUY de Saint-Aubin, daughter of Sir RICHARD Sergeaux & his wife Philippa de Arundel (-18 May 1452, bur Earl's Colne). She married thirdly (before 13 Oct 1421) Nicholas Thorley (-1442).

Earl Richard & his second wife had two children: 1. JOHN (Hedingham Castle 23 Apr 1408-executed Tower Hill 26 Feb 1462, bur London, Church of the Austin Friars). He succeeded his father in 1417 as Earl of Oxford. He was arrested with his eldest son in Feb 1463, committed to the Tower, found guilty of treason and beheaded[1100]. m ([22 May/31 Aug] 1425) ELIZABETH Howard, daughter and heiress of Sir JOHN Howard Lord Plaiz & his wife Joan Walton ([1409/10]-[Stratford Nunnery] after 25 Dec 1475, bur London, Church of the Austin Friars). She was forced to surrender her property to Richard Duke of Gloucester in 1475[1101]. Earl John & his wife had five children: 2. Sir ROBERT de Vere . m as her second husband, JOAN Courtenay, widow of Sir NICHOLAS Carew, daughter of Sir HUGH Courtenay of Goodrington, Devon & his second wife Philippa Arcedekne. Sir Robert & his wife had one child: ------------------------------

Alice Sergeaux, who died in 1406 was the daughter of Sir Richard Sergeaux. Alice married Richard de Vere, 11th Earl of Oxford. They had two children:

1. John de Vere, 12th Earl of Oxford 2. Robert de Vere, whose grandson, John, became the 15th Earl of Oxford
Alice Sergeaux was the daughter of Sir Richard Sergeaux and Philippe FitzAlan.
She married, firstly, Guy St. Aubyn. She married, secondly, Richard de Vere, 11th Earl of Oxford, son of Aubrey de Vere, 10th Earl of Oxford and Alice FitzWalter, circa 1405.
Her married name became St. Aubyn. She was also known as Alice Serjeaux. From circa 1405, her married name became de Vere.
