Hendriks weduwe wordt er (thans) voor aangezien het territorium nauwelijks in haar eentje te hebben kunnen besturen, het lag voor de hand,voor het toezicht en mogelijk de formele (mede)voogdij over Albrecht, een beroep te doen op Aleide, die in die jaren het bewind over het gehele graafschap voerde en regentes was voor de jonge Floris V; Aleide had steeds nauw samengewerkt met Aelbrechts vader, de dan overleden Hendrik van Voorne, en er blijkt van nauwe kontakten tussen Aleide en de Voornes in de jaren rond 1260, wat de zaak aannemelijker maakt; zelfs over het op het hof te Maerlant woonachtig zijn van Aleide en Floris V wordt gespeculeerd (Fr.v.Oostrom).
Catharina is een Luxemburgse edelvrouw, ouders: Jan III, ridder, heer van Cysoing en Petegem, vermeld 1207-1240/ Maria van Bourghelles, vermeld sedert 1220, behoorde tot de zgn. pairs van Vlaanderen.
